The TPA3112D1EVM is an evaluation module for TPA3112D1 25W efficient, class D audio power amplifier. This module is complete with a small number of external components mounted on a circuit board that can be used to directly to drive a speaker with an external analog audio source as the input. The TPA3112D1 can drive a mono speaker as low as 4ohm. The high efficiency of the TPA3112D1, greater then 90%, eliminates the need for an external heat sink when playing music. The DC detect circuit measures the frequency and amplitude of the PWM signal and shuts off the output stage if the input capacitors are damaged or shorts exist on the inputs. The evaluation modules default output filter configuration is an LC filter, but can easily be configured to support filter free operation. Designers can quickly evaluate the sound quality and verify specifications in their application with the TPA3112D1EVM.
Greater than 90% efficient class D operation
Support for filter free operation
Speaker guard speaker protection circuitry
Four selectable, fixed gain settings
8V to 26V wide operating voltage
Thermal and short circuit protection with auto recovery feature
This device has limited built in ESD protection. The leads should be shorted together or device placed in conductive foam during storage or handling to prevent electrostatic damage to the MOS gates.
Its important to operate this EVM within the input range of -0.3V to 6.3V and the output voltage range of -0.3V to 30V. Exceeding the specified input voltage range may cause damage to the EVM.
